Unlike other fire and stove retailers, we take full responsibility for the whole job from the start to the finish. You will have adequate time to test the stove or gas fire and examine the quality of the work, before you pay for the installation and the balance of the goods. We only take a moderate deposit in advance and do not charge for surveys. We take pride and care with our work from the start to the finish. We do not rush the job and most jobs take two or more days to complete. Our reputation is paramount to everything we do. Recommendations are our life blood!
At FireShak we live test virtually everything we sell, we do not accept manufacturers, often bloated claims of superb performance. There are hundreds of brands of wood burner’s on the market, only about 8% of them are any good, we have test many. the rest command little control of the fire via the air feed, do not have hot glass air washes to keep the glass spotless, and more importantly a cheap stove will burn up to twice the volume of your expensive logs, whilst pumping out huge volumes of toxic smoke and fine particles. Our stoves already far exceed the UK DEFRA clean air requirements and already meet the new European 2022 requirements.
We will ensure that you get the perfect stove or fire to suit your requirements and room location
Most of our retail competitors will take full payment for stove/ fire and all materials in advance of delivery to you, they then pass all the responsibility for the contract on to their installer, who will often be uninsured or under insured. The installer will in many cases, ignore your complaints, and often work under a mobile phone number only. This will form a legal third-party subcontract between yourself and the installer, effectively absolving all responsibility for the installation from the retailer.
The installer will demand payment on the day of completion, often demanding cash and putting you under pressure in advance to get the cash ready, thus giving you precious little time to examine the quality of their work when they claim to have finished. Getting the installer to come back is often very difficult as everyone has been paid in full.
You may get a cheaper price, but the pitfalls are many. Installers do not have showrooms and have limited access to quality stoves fires and ancillary equipment and materials, they will recommend products that are cheap far eastern imports whose product names are spread all over the internet, your warranty will be worthless. These same installers indulge in the same sharp practices as described above and will also cut every corner to finish the job in one day. Should you buy the stove online yourself, your warranty will be poor and limited to twelve months for internet purchases. Thoroughly researching your online purchase will fill you with bloated manufacturers claims, often resulting in you buying an unsuitable product. In short “You get what you pay for”
